SUMMARY:Million Meal Event

In 2026\, this extraordinary event returns on June 13–14 at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego\, uniting our community to bring hope to our brothers and sisters living in poverty. \nThis year marks a powerful milestone. For the first time\, we will pack 2 million meals in one event. One million meals will be distributed across the border and internationally\, while one million meals will remain local\, distributed by Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego to help feed families in need throughout our own community. \nMore than 5\,100 volunteers will come together over two days to make this possible. Parish communities\, service organizations\, schools\, and families are encouraged to participate as groups and help raise funds for the event. Our collective goal is to raise $600\,000—and together\, we can achieve it. \nBrought to you by the Deacons and their wives\, the Diocesan Office of the Permanent Diaconate\, Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego\, and the Diocese of San Diego\, this faith-in-action initiative is a powerful witness to unity and compassion. United in hope and steadfast in faith\, we come together as witnesses to God\, who is love\, mercy\, and hope for our world. \nSign up today and put your faith in action! \nYour generosity of time and financial contribution can enliven hope for the world! \n\nOfficial Page\n\n\nDonate\n\n\nVolunteer

SUMMARY:Juneteenth Mass

Indeed\, all members of the Catholic community are invited to attend\, not just African Americans.

SUMMARY:Conferencia Familiar 2026 “La familia: Sacramento de Dios”
\n\n\n\n Youth Track\n \n \n \nTopic 1: Prodigal Children: Mercy and the Unconditional Love of God (and your parents!) \n  \nTopic description/descripción del tema \n  \nEnglish: \nWe hear these words of prayer during Mass\, “Have Mercy on Them… Have Mercy on Us…” but what does that mean? \n  \n\n  \nWendy Baez graduated from the Franciscan School of Theology with a master’s degree in theological studies. \n  \nShe is currently the Associate Director of the Office for Family Life and Spirituality in the Diocese of San Diego\, a position that\, more than a job\, is a vocation of service to God and her community. Wendy has been married for thirteen years and is the mother of two amazing kids. \nNoreen Madden McInnes is the Director Emeritus of the Office for Liturgy & Spirituality in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego. She held that position from September\, 2014 – July\, 2026. Noreen has a DMin in Liturgical Catechesis from The Catholic University of America. Her doctoral treatise centered on the Spiritual\, Theological\, and Practical Formation for Pastoral Care of the Sick Ministers. She also earned an MA in Theology from the University of Notre Dame with a concentration in Liturgy. Additionally\, she holds an MEE from Villanova University and a BA in Mathematics from The Catholic University of America. \n  \nNoreen is the author of Keep at It\, Riley! a book in the Magenta Series by New City Press promoted by Dr. Charles C. Camosy\, the series editor. Noreen tells the story of how Catholic faith accompanied her family through the sickness and death of her elderly parents. What could mistakenly be seen as a downward spiral was actually upward. As her parents were called home to God\, those around them caught a glimpse of heaven. Ministering to them during this time was challenging\, yet a blessing\, not a burden. She discovered her source of strength was her Irish Catholic upbringing\, the sacraments\, and God. Her family motto\, ‘Keep at it\, Riley!’ explains how they never give up\, they give it to God! \n  \nBorn and raised in Mountain Top\, Pennsylvania\, she now resides in San Diego with her husband of forty-four years and enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She has a passion for liturgy and takes great joy in sharing it with others.
