Open Enrollemtn – Copy

Open Enrollment is the time of the year to make changes to your benefits. It begins November 1 and ends on November 30th at 9pm. The Diocese continues to partner with Bswift Benefits to provide you with the ability to make your annual enrollment elections online at your convenience. It contains all of your plan documents to include: Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD) and Section 125 docs (explains our tax-free benefits), and benefit plan information in the “Library” section. Health care costs continue to rise therefore you will notice a slight increase in the premium for the upcoming plan year.

To access the benefit system, see link below entitled “Open Enrollment 2025 Guide”.

IMPORTANT:

  • If you are NOT making any enrollments or changes (beneficiaries, coverage etc.) and you do NOT have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), your open enrollment is complete, no further action is needed.

  •  After open enrollment ends, you will be unable to make changes unless you have a mid-year “qualifying” life event change (marriage, birth of a child, etc.). If you have a mid-year “qualifying” event, you will have 30 days, from the event date, to enroll or make changes in the online benefit system. You must also notify and provide the necessary documentation to your location administrator within that same 30-day window.

GROUP MEDICAL, Rx AND VISION INSURANCE – CIGNA continues to be the administrator for the Open Access Plus Plan (PPO) and the Open Access Plus Plan (Bridge). The prescription drug benefit will continue to be administered by CVS/Caremark and the vision benefit by VSP. Prescription drug and vision benefits are the same for all enrollees regardless of the medical plan elected.

  • CIGNA is transitioning to digital ID cards. Although the option to request a physical ID card is still available, NEW enrollees to the plan will receive a letter in the mail on how to access digital ID card(s). Additional information is available in the link below entitled “Cigna Going Digital”.

♦ GROUP DENTAL INSURANCE – All dental plans, CIGNA Dental PPO, Western Dental DHMO 7730, MetLife/Safeguard DHMO SG-85, will continue to be offered.

  • Maximum contribution for Dependent Care is $5,000

  • Maximum contribution for Health Care is projected to be $3,300 (Will adjust once the IRS determines the new limit)

♦ VOLUNTARY SUPPLEMENTAL LIFE INSURANCE – You have an OPPORTUNITY to elect coverage up to the guaranteed issue WITHOUT completing a health questionnaire. Any amount over the guaranteed issue will require completion of a health questionnaire. Additional information is available in the link below entitled “Life Insurance Buy-Up”.
