October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. During this month, we are called in a very special way to recognize that every human being created in the image of God has an inalienable dignity. The use of violence against another human being, especially within the domestic church, is a sin and a crime, as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has expressed in their letter, When I Ask for Help: A Pastoral Response to Domestic Violence Against Women.
In honor of this important call to say no to domestic violence and raise awareness against it, the Office for Family Life and Spirituality invites you to the annual Diocesan Domestic Violence Awareness Mass. The Mass will be held at Ascension Parish in Clairemont Mesa. See the flyer for more information.
