Mission and Vision

The Indonesian Catholic Community – Diocese of San Diego (Keluarga Katolik Indonesia – San Diego) upholds the core values of the Catholic faith, unity and friendship in Christ and service to God and others. The purpose of our community is:

  • To support and help Catholic Indonesians in San Diego County in Catholic faith building, social life and American culture adaptation
  • To nurture Catholicism throughout the Indonesian community in the diocese and among others in general

The Indonesian community meets at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Santee, where its members have faith-building every first Saturday of the month, attend Holy Mass every third Saturday of the month, pray the Rosary and learn the Bible.

History

Keluarga Katolik Indonesia was part of the Newman Center of San Diego State University from 2001 to 2008, and Blessed Sacrament Parish from 2009 and 2010. Its members became a community at Guardian Angels’ parish in Santee in 2011.

Our membership has grown over time, currently numbering about 200 individuals (singles, and families with children). We live in San Diego County, from Fallbrook to Chula Vista, and from La Jolla to El Cajon.

We have Family and Adult Ministry and Young Adult and Youth Ministry. Our activities include prayer meetings, bible sharing, social service, sports, recreational activities, and participation in Diocese of San Diego and Guardian Angels’ parish events.
