The Basic Catechist Formation Course (BCFC) is designed for individuals entrusted with handing on the faith, those seeking to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, and anyone interested in serving as a minister within their parish or school community.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 17½ years of age
- Have received the Sacrament of Confirmation
Participants under 18 years of age must also:
- Submit a letter of authorization from a parent or legal guardian
- Receive a recommendation from the Parish Director of Catechetical Ministry (DCM) and/or Pastor
Please Note
- This course is intended solely for the certification of new catechists.
- It is designed for individuals who have not previously completed the Basic Catechist Formation Course (BCFC).
- The BCFC may not be repeated and cannot be used for renewal hours.
