The Administrator of the Diocese of San Diego, Bishop Michael Pham, issued the following statement today:
With profound sadness and righteous indignation, we unite in prayer for the victims and families who suffered the violent Antisemitic attacks in Washington, D.C., and in Boulder, Colorado. We denounce any form of hatred towards others that undermines the intrinsic virtue of human dignity of all persons. This includes the recent ICE raid without due process at the restaurant Buona Forchetta in the South Park neighborhood of San Diego. We pray for lasting peace in our communities as we continue to work together to achieve it.
In light of these recent incidents, please be advised that all houses of worship, including parishes in the San Diego Police Department jurisdiction, may see increased police surveillance.
