Mental Health Ministry 101

As pilgrims of hope, we are called to be present to our brothers and sisters affected by mental illness. But how? What would it look like for a parish to have a ministry devoted to accompanying families affected by mental health challenges? How can we help educate our people about mental health and reduce the stigma?

Please join us in May for our Mental Health Ministry 101 series. On May 19, learn about what mental healthy ministry is and why it matters, and the next week explore what a mental health ministry at your parish might look like. On June 2, join us for Basic Mental Health Literacy, followed by Psychological First Aid on June 9. Those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet other mental health ministry leaders from around the diocese, find out what they’re doing, and how we can all learn from each other. The first two sessions will also be available in Spanish.
